Thats sick haha, crack up how the canopy opens when he gas's it.

Question: i gather the other truck in the 1st vid has no tailgate cause it would create alot of wind resistance as the air comes back down from going over the cab? and would the side of the tray also help keep it straight in a way?

havnt ya seen wen they tested that on mythbusters, wif a tailgate up an dwn, turns out to be beta wif the tailgate up, air kumin ova the roof hits the tail gate an creates a high pressure area behind the cab, which inturn give the lower pressure air a smoother path to follow, hope i explained that well enuf, more of a fuel efficiency thing tho, which kinda goes out the window wen ya got ya foot hard up it lol

Haha, im just a tad irritated my ute only JUST beats a 2L Lux d\c on an oregan road run :l I thought it should pull harder then that, and its done 175kph before but i slowed down as there was a rather large hump in the road (gets you airborne if you like that sort of thing). But now I can only accelerate very slowly past 150. Im stumped, have no clue whats going on, i even tuned the carb a lil bit and i dont think its helped. and it wasnt a wind issue cause i went both directions in a straight line for i think 4kms and it just sat at 160. The hilux did also but yeah.

Why dont you take your truck to nightspeed dragwars over summer if you want to get your go fast jollies? That way you will find out for yourself if the ute goes faster with the tailgate up or down. Dont do it on the road thats just stupid

Yeah i know, for the record i dont go out and do that or similar things vert often, maybe once every few months ill actually race someone, generally we do just go keep to ourselves and yeah. But I do plan on going to a proper drag meet at some point, i think itd be cool to do it properly and also to find out how fast i can do the quarter.
