Why does the forum cut off 1/3rd of photos??

When i go to load or view a photo the forum cuts off the right hand side, doesnt seem to matter how big the photo is either when uploaded from photobucket.
I know its not just my computer cos its mentioned by others in the random pic thread, Can someone fix this??

Unfortunately that is one of the cons with this version of phpBB and we have been unable to rectify the problem

I suggest you resize your photos before you host and post them, simple way is to use ms paint (check the how to thread in the photo forum)

I did try resizing my pics but it didnt seem to help, does a widescreen monitor really show the whole thing? i would have thought it would have been the same as a normal one but wider lol

I have only noticed it when trying to access the site on laptops so i think it has more to do with the operating system. Though Jaydus will be able to give us the more technical reason.

In photo bucket, before you hit "upload" go to (more options) there you can change the size of the uploaded pics too. See if that helps

well we recently got a new pc, our old one was a 19" chilly bin sized screen and that cut it off.

now have a 20" hd widescreen monitor and everything is fine.

Some pages such as trademe are their normal width,and i have to white strips down the side of the monitor to fill the void, if that makes sense.

As for OS,our old pc was on xp,with opera. this one is win7 with opera.if that helps anyone with determining how to fix this annoying bug.

A quick fix, is to right click on the image, select copy image address, open a new broswer/tab and paste that into it,should then bring it up as a complete image

Resizing does work, you just need to work out how much you need to resize your photos in order for them to fit the screen right. If you take a look at the photos that I posted in the 2010 Rotorua swapmeet, those are the biggest sized photos I can post without them being cut off

Have you got a photo currently posted that is doing this? the only one I could find that you had posted is the one of your lux, but that worked fine for me. I've looked on here on a couple of different computers and had the photo's cut off so if you are able to tell us which photo your having trouble with we can see if we are having the same difficulty. If the photo is from someone else you can right click and go to properties and copy the img code then put that in between these

As hood mentioned, PHPBB3 has little restriction when introducing image tags. The issue usually only occurs with extremely large photos or low monitor resolutions. If your using a browser such as firefox, opera or google chrome you can simply right click the image and open the graphic in a new tab, which will allow you to see the entire image from its original tagged source.
